Greetings to everybody. Welcome to the St Joseph’s School, New Plymouth Website.

St Joseph’s is a Contributing State Integrated (Catholic) Primary School catering for
children from new entrants to year six. We are a very well resourced school that
provides a broad and rich curriculum built around Christian living, creativity and
knowledge and skills essential for the future. These skills are embedded in the school
Eight Competencies (8 C’s) and through our Gospel Values of Tika, Pono & Aroha. An
emphasis is given to achievement in the core learning areas of literacy and numeracy
as well as developing and fostering an appreciation of the arts, digital and scientific
skills, social, outdoor and leisure skills.

St Joseph’s School continues to benefit from strong community support. Children and
staff feel a strong sense of belonging and we enjoy an ongoing association with past
and present students and families.

We encourage you to explore our website and we look forward to hearing from you and
meeting you in the future.

Kia ora Everyone

Please share this with your Star Helpers and parents/guardians of your players.

As you all know, the new Traffic Light System comes into effect at 11.59pm on Thursday 2nd December, which means we’ve had to make some adjustments to how our Netball programmes will operate.

To ensure the health and safety of all netball participants, staff, and volunteers, Netball Taranaki will become a Vaccine Pass organisation, effective Friday 3rd December. This means that EVERYONE aged 12 years 3 months and over must be fully vaccinated and show and scan their vaccine pass to enter all netball venues.

The new system also means that everyone must use the designated entry and exit points.

Please don’t forget your masks, to scan QR code or sign in at the Tower and maintain physical distancing.

While we understand the disappointment and difficulties this can create, in the short term, it is the only way we are permitted to operate and allow the continuation of our programmes.

Please get in touch with Hayley O’Neill if this will affect your child’s participation.

Kind regards,

Pia Bailey-Nowell

Games Administrator

Touch Draw – December 6th 2021

Fri Dec 03 02:52pm

A note from the City Touch Team,

Attached is the week 6 draw for our final week of Touch.

Firstly thank you, your teams, coaches and support crew for cooperating and getting through a very different look of touch under Covid restrictions.
Also pass on to your parents our thanks for respecting the Covid restrictions, I know it must of been so hard for parents to stay away with the no spectators protocols.

Covid levels and the new traffic light system.
As you all know that from this Friday Taranaki will move into the Covid 19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) under Orange.
With so much uncertainty on how this would look for us to operate sport plus we have not been given time or direction to plan for sport in Orange.
We have decided we will transition the last week of touch out under our same level 2 systems we have been running.
So week 6 will be run as usual in bubbles with no spectators to complete our season.

Thanks again Shane and the City Touch Crew

The guitar and ukulele concert planned for Monday has been postponed due to extra precautions in line with the NP Covid cases.

Thanks to the majority that are abiding by the Covid level 2 protocols. But we still have a small minority that are pushing the boundaries.

NO crossing of the zone ropes, these are there for reason.
NO spectators as there has been a increase especially by zone 4&5 by the playground and skate park.please parents if you don’t need to be there drop your child off and collect them once their games finish.
If crowd numbers increase we will have to shutdown games so we don’t breach our Covid level 2 protocols.
