The school swimming pool is now up to a temperature of 26 degrees and is open for use after school and during the weekends, until the school holidays.

Classroom swimming starts on Monday 28th November.  All children are to bring their togs and towel every day.  Individual classroom teachers will make a decision on the day as to whether their class swims.

Keys are offered to the School community at a small cost and are available at the School Office.

This year the fee is $50.00 plus a bond of $20.00 which will be credited to family accounts on return of the key at the end of the season.  Please make all payments for keys online.

Please note that all key holders are required to complete and sign a ‘User Regulations’ form at the office as well as proof of payment ($70.00) before receiving a key.

As part of our Catholic Education review, interested parents and caregivers are invited to come to a meeting with the review team tomorrow afternoon, 16th November.

Come along to school half an hour earlier for pick-up and meet in the staffroom from 2.15pm–2.50pm, for coffee and cupcakes; to discuss and celebrate our Catholic Character from a parent and caregiver perspective. We would love to have lots of parents join us.

Lets get behind the NZ Black Ferns who are facing England in the Women’s Rugby World Cup final at Eden Park this Saturday!

Students are invited to wear black to school tomorrow (or uniform as usual) in a show of support for our Black Ferns.

Students involved in the Puanga Festival this Friday 11th November, will be leaving school by bus at 10.30am in time for their performance which is scheduled for 12:00pm.

Buses are due to arrive back at school at 1.30pm.  We are aware that the FDMC Orientation Afternoon for Year 6 boys begins at 1.45pm.  This should allow enough time for those boys to attend both events.  Parents are welcome to uplift their sons from the Waitara War Memorial Hall if they wish to do so … please advise Mrs Ropitini if you choose to do this.

Today is the last day of our Book Fair.  The School Library is open this morning from 8.30am-8.50am and again this afternoon from 3.00pm-5.30pm for parents/caregivers to view and purchase.  Eftpos is available.

Bring a donation of a gold coin to touch rugby this afternoon and choose a tasty cupcake -this is for adults and children! These will be set up at the Oscar building.  Lots of yummy cupcakes to choose from!  Help raise money for the SPCA.  Thank you!

SPCA CUPCAKE DAY – this coming Monday 31st October.

This Monday some Year 5 and 6 children are selling cupcakes as part of a fundraiser for animals in need at SPCA.  The money will go towards feeding, caring for and protecting unwanted and abandoned animals in New Zealand.

Students are asked to please bring a gold coin donation to Cullinane on Monday at morning tea time, in exchange for a cupcake.

Please help us raise money for a great cause.  Thank you!

It’s Book Fair Dress Up Day tomorrow!!  Children can come to school dressed as their favourite Book Character or as a pet.  Staff are joining in with the fun too!

The library will be open before school, from 8.30am-8.50am, and again after school, from 3.00pm-3.30pm, for parents/caregivers to make purchases.  Eftpos is available.

A reminder that cricket begins this Friday and Saturday, 28th and 29th October.

Team Managers will let you know the times and venues of your games each week, or you can check out the Taranaki Cricket Association website under Fixtures.

If your child is unable to make a game, please let your Team Manager or Coach know well in advance.

Grandparents, extended family and friends are warmly invited to the school from 8.50am until 9.40am to spend time in the classrooms with your grandchildren, etc, before attending the Liturgy in the Scout Hall at 9.40am, after which morning tea will be served. 

The morning will conclude at approximately 10.30am.

Please come and join us on this special occasion.

Parking will be available on the school field.

It would be much appreciated if families who have grandparents attending could bring along a small plate of food to contribute  towards morning tea.

Our school photos are being taken on Thursday 27th October and will be available for you to view and order online with PhotoLife Studios. 

Your child/ren will bring home a unique Photo Keycode a couple of weeks after Photo Day. Use this keycode to view your child/ren’s photos at  It is then an easy process for you to shop online and purchase the photographs you want.

Sibling order forms are going home with students today.  These must be returned to the School Office before Photo Day.

Early in term four we will begin preparations for Baptism for children who are seven years of age and over.  The programme will consist of an information session for parents, where we will go over what the programme entails, and the expectations and commitment required from families.  

The date for this information session will be Sunday 6th November 4.00pm in St Joseph’s Church Hall.  Children are welcome to come along to Shine, our junior youth group, which runs at this time. If, after this first session, you decide that your family is ready to commit to this programme the next three sessions are as follows:

Sunday 13th November at 4.00pm

Sunday 20th November at 4.00pm

Sunday 27th November at 4.00pm

These sessions are for parents and children.  After these sessions we will then all go as a whole group to 5.30pm Mass at St Joseph’s Church. Then the celebration, where all of the children will celebrate their Baptism will be held on Sunday 4th December.
